My story is exactly the same as “A,” down to the 10 years estranged, and I just wanted to let her know that she’s not alone. My mom has no idea that I’m a mother, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about her. That said, my son has never experienced the dysfunctional chaos of my own upbringing, and I’m SO proud of that. hug
