When I see situations like yours (and there are SO MANY) it makes me so fearful to adopt domestically. Somehow I fantasize that adopting from China or somewhere, the child doesn’t have to wonder “why”? And there is nobody to suddenly “show up”. Do all adopted kids have holes in their hearts?
