I always liked Carrie, but as a fan of classic films I was more into Debbie. I met her once and she was funny and charming. My writer friend Chuck wrote: “It’s terrible about Debbie, but she was very ill, and probably exhausted, and life without Carrie would have been unbearable. Dying was an act of love — sheer will.” God bless them both.
