Rosie, I guarantee that my police officer husband and his co-workers never thought about a person’s skin color as they spent days on the pile after 9/11. I’m also sure they don’t think about race as they watch one of these brave men fight for his life due to a 9/11 related cancer. So “taking a knee” is especially offensive to me.
