Vedran Smajlovic was the famous cellist of Sarajevo, who in full evening dress played his cello for 22 days in the spot where 22 of his neighbors were killed by mortars. A reporter asked if he was crazy for doing this. Smajlovic replied, “You ask me if am I crazy for playing the cello, why do you not ask if they are crazy for shelling Sarajevo?”
