SUPERSTAR SOAP LOAF

 
Materials:
From your local craft store:
Glycerin soap
Coconut soap
Soap dye
Rectangle candle mold
Star candle mold
Small piece of clay
From your kitchen:
Knife
Cutting board
Pyrex measuring cup
Stirring spoon

Cut the glycerin soap into cubes and place them into a Pyrex measuring cup. Microwave on “high” in one-minute increments until the glycerin is completely melted.

Stir in soap dye a little at a time until you reach the desired color.

Plug the wick hole in the bottom of the star candle mold using a little piece of clay. Pour the melted glycerin soap into the mold and place to the side while the soap sets up. (Actual time may differ, depending on the size of the mold. Soap is done when the bottom of the mold is no longer warm, and the soap slides easily out.)

Melt the white coconut soap in the same manner as the glycerin soap in Part One.

After plugging the wick hole in the bottom of the rectangle candle mold, place the completed star soap in the center of the mold

Pour the melted coconut soap into the rectangle mold and place to the side while the soap sets up. (Actual time may differ, depending on the size of the mold. Soap is done when the bottom of the mold is no longer warm, and the soap slides easily out.)

Once the soap is done, slide it out of the candle mold, and slice it up – just like a loaf of bread. Each slice will have a star in the center.
