Step 1
Step 1

You can either use the whole tiles or break them into smaller, irregular-shaped and sized pieces with a hammer. It’s best to do this while the tiles are still inside the package so you minimize small pieces that might fly around. For more advanced cuts you can try a tile nipper (available at your local craft store). Remember to wear your safety glasses during this step!

Apply glue to your pot and spread it around using the spreader.

Place your tiles on the glue – in any design you desire.

Allow the glue to dry completely

Step 5

Work the grout into the spaces between the tiles using a trowel. Then let the project sit for about 20 minutes. The grout will be semi-dry.

Using a sponge and water, clean the excess grout off the top of the tiles and let the pot completely dry.

Once you get the hang of it, you can use the same technique to make mosaic tables, frames, or many other items. You are only limited by your imagination!

Special Note: We highly recommend that you follow all the steps during this project – some shortcuts were taken in this video to fit the show’s time restrictions.
